API

The acronym API has, over time, become a generic term to describe any type of connectivity interface between platforms or applications. However, the modern API has some specific characteristics that enhance its use in different scenarios:

• Developed with friendly standards, easily accessible and widely unders.
• Designed for the consumption of specific audiences, documented and versioned in order to allow easy maintenance and life cycle.
• Disciplined in security and governance, allowing high performance and scale.

We use standardized APIs to create, exchange track and manage information between our modules or external systems. Examples include CRM applications, network management or fault management systems, or different Trouble Ticket management systems.
